All community members are invited to attend presentations about personal safety by speakers from the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center July 31.
For children, Alison Feigh will present “Empower Me!” Grades two through six will learn about personal safety in this interactive session. Topics covered are the buddy system, checking first, secrets vs. surprises, five trusted adults, listening to your “uh-oh” feeling and body ownership.
For adults, Jane Straub will present “Teachable Safety Skills: Replacing Myths with Facts.” This presentation provides current information about various safety concerns children and teens are facing today, both in person and online, and how to educate youth on those concerns in a positive way.
Event is organized by St. Croix Family Resource Center and hosted by St. Paul Lutheran Church. It runs 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, July 31.
