Authorities have identified the 6-year-old girl who died June 4 after being pulled from the Lake Elmo Park Reserve swimming pond as Ghia Vue of St. Paul.

Around 1:15 p.m. Sunday, June 4, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the man-made swimming pond at the county park in Lake Elmo on a report that the girl had been pulled from the water and wasn’t breathing.

Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the victim was transported to Regions Hospital, where she later died, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct the autopsy, and results are expected in six to eight weeks. The incident will be under investigation until those results are received.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by Lake Elmo Rescue, Lakeview Ambulance, the Woodbury Police Department and Lake Elmo Park Reserve staff.
