Stillwater students finalists in Chemistry Olympiad

Two Stillwater Area High Schools students are among 14 in the state of Minnesota to be named Chemistry Olympiad finalists. Alex Daum and Joe Hesse-Withbroe have both been invited to participate in the U. S. National Chemistry exam. The exam is given to about 1,000 students in the county, and the top scorers can earn an invitation to the International Chemistry Olympiad.

The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad program is a chemistry competition for high school students. The purpose of the competition is to stimulate young people to achieve excellence in chemistry. The American Chemical Society has sponsored the program since 1984.
