Church briefs: Second Sunday Supper Jan. 12

Bethlehem Lutheran Church hosts the Second Sunday Supper Jan. 12.

Highlights of the menu include chicken casserole, fresh-baked rolls and a homemade dessert.

The meal starts at 5 p.m. and aims to create a social and community connection within the St. Croix Valley. Everyone is welcome to attend. The church is located at 490 4th St. N in Bayport.

DivorceCare class starting

Faith Community Church is holding its next seminar series of DivorceCare 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 at Faith Community Church, 777 Carmichael Rd, Hudson.

DivorceCare is a 13-week divorce recovery seminar and support group for individuals going through divorce or separation. New members are welcome at any time during the 13 weeks. The group meets at Faith Community Church in Hudson, Wis., each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Each session includes a video and group discussion. The videos feature nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics. Seminar sessions include “Facing My Anger,” “Facing My Loneliness,” “Depression,” “New Relationships,” “KidCare” and “Forgiveness.”  A workbook is available for purchase or reduced fee.  No registration is required.

Learn about Catholic miracles

Watch and discuss DVDs on Catholic miracles at St Mary’s Education Building (423 5th St. S. Stillwater) Saturdays 8:30-10 a.m. through Jan.18.

The classes look at the Church teaching on miracles. Participants will explore Jesus’ miracles, Eucharistic miracles, the tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Shroud of Turin, the Holy Face of Manopello, miracles at Lourdes and the mysteries of the House of Loreto.

Widows/widowers  support group

Widows or Widowers will meet Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at the North Presbyterian Church located at 2675 Hwy 36 in North St. Paul.

Our organization welcomes all widows or widowers that may choose to be involved in many social activities we have to offer throughout the year. Some of these are golfing, theater, dinners, cards, etc. The first meeting takes place on Jan. 14 and is every second Tuesday of the month after that where entertainment, refreshments and a short meeting.
