Seventeen participants from around the St. Croix Valley were crowned as royalty in the fifth annual Crowning Achievements Special Needs Pageant at Faith Community Church in New Richmond, Wis., Nov. 2. Approximately 250 guests attended, and a raffle raised funds to help keep the Crowning Achievements program free for all participants in monthly activities and the yearly pageant. The nonprofit serves special needs men and women throughout the St. Croix Valley. A new participant and volunteer meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Jan. 2 at Somerset Lutheran Church, 510 Germain Street, Somerset, Wis.
