Equally productive in the singles and doubles lineup, Emma Germundson has been rock solid for the Stillwater girls’ tennis team this fall.

The freshman won three matches to place first at third doubles as the Ponies took top honors at Saturday’s eight-team Hibbing Invitational. Germundson also collected Stillwater’s only singles victory in an eventual 4-3 setback against Suburban East Conference rival Mounds View on Sept. 12. She typically competes at second doubles with partner Remi Larson and they did not lose a game while helping the Ponies to a 6-1 victory over Roseville on Tuesday.

The Ponies (4-2 SEC, 8-3) host Woodbury in a conference match today.

The Stillwater boys’ soccer team appears to be hitting its stride and Aropo Ojulu has provided a nice spark for a team that has outscored its last four opponents by a combined 18-2.

The senior forward scored a goal in Tuesday’s 3-0 victory over Roseville and tallied two goals in a 5-1 nonconference triumph at Hill-Murray on Saturday. Prior to that, he scored twice to  lead a balanced attack in an 8-0 victory over Hastings and delivered the game-winner in overtime as the Ponies upended Cretin-Derham Hall 2-1 in a Suburban East Conference game on Sept. 10.

Stillwater (4-0 SEC, 5-2), which is unbeaten in its past 27 conference games, hosts Mounds View tonight.
