Stillwater trap shooting team enjoys successful season

ALEXANDRIA — The Stillwater Area High School trap shooting team is growing quickly in numbers and accomplishments following the State High School Clay Target Competition at Alexandria Shooting Park.

Stillwater’s Jenna Jahnke led the way for the Ponies with a third-place finish in the girls’ competition after losing a shoot-off for second place.

The club team began with just 18 participants in its inaugural season a year ago, but grew to 76 in the second season under the direction of coach Ken Bjorlin and several 8-21 spo-trap Houleothers.

Letterwinners for the Ponies, who recently held their postseason awards banquet, this season include: Jahnke, Pat Balfanz, McKinley Beane, Jerome Doede, Hunter Duncan, Taylor Frattalone, Mark Houle, George Larson, Brady Milanovich, Alex Oberg, Travis Prigge, Kyle Reinsberg, Jake Simcik, 8-21 spo-trap SimcekSpencer Strubing, Cole Wahlstrom, Alexis Wahlstrom, Nick Wicker and Parker Witt.
