Lakeview Health recently announced July classes on cancer and healthy meals for children and adults. Classes are:
Finding Your Way Through Cancer
A series for individuals and their families who are dealing with cancer diagnosis. Each week, facilitator Julie Edstrom addresses an issue most people confront during their journey through cancer.
The free class is 7 to 8:15 p.m. July 11 through Aug. 1 at Lakeview Hospital. Registration is required and can be done by calling 651-430-4697.
Whisk it: Get Whisked Away, Creating Dinner Together
Children in grades three through six can learn to make healthy meals from the top chefs at Cooks of Crocus Hill. The class is 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 20. Cost is $10 per class per child or $20 per class maximum per family. Registration is required and can be done by calling 651-430-4697.
Preschoolers to second-graders and their parents or guardians can join Lakeview Hospital Dietitian Kathy Mead, RD, MPH, for a fun session on eating better. The class is 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 30 at Lakeview Hospital.
Families can get hands-on experience preparing delicious kid-friendly food to help PowerUp nutrition. Classes cost $10 per class per child and $20 per class maximum per family. Registration is required at PowerUp4kids.org.
