God is my shield

“A shield before me is God who saves the honest heart.” Psalms 7:11

A shield before us is our God. Imagine that He stands before us to protect us from any onslaught we might face. That He wishes to go into any battle we might encounter, whether at work, school, home, with friends or in any situation we find ourselves and to shield us from harm.

All that He requires is our faith, our obedience to His word and our desire to serve Him by serving others, as well as an honest and open heart. Can you do it? Do you want His protection and shelter at every moment of your life? And if so, are you willing to enter into His expectation for your life?

Entering into God’s expectation requires that we surrender all claim to what we have known to be right about life, about ourselves, as well as the future, and give it all to Him. Entering into His expectation means that we allow Him to implicitly, unreservedly, unconditionally become the center of our lives and all that we say makes sense to us. It means we enter into a different kind of existence. Are you willing to let go of all that has made sense to you and live with total trust in His assurance to provide for you?

If so, commit today to allow His grace and His presence to permeate your life at every corner, every juncture, every crossroad and allow Him to mold and shape you and the experiences that come your way, for He is the shield that protects and defends us.
