Hein nets big fish prize at Paul Koval Memorial Walleye Classic

The team of Tyler, left, and Jerry Hein finished second at the 4th Annual Paul Koval Memorial Walleye Classic on May 18. Participating anglers launched out of Beanies at Maui’s Landing in Lakeland on the St. Croix River and were able to range from the Stillwater bridge south to Prescott bridge north. The Heins hauled in nine fish weighing 22.40 pounds — including a 7.34-pound whopper that netted the Big Fish prize for Jerry, who was a professional tournament fisherman a decade ago. Only David Hale and Mark Hedin were more productive while turning in eight fish weighing 25.36 pounds. (Contributed photos)
