MENDOTA HEIGHTS — Saint Thomas Academy recognized several cadets for their leadership among the Corps of Cadets and the community, and for their promise in military pursuits following graduation at the school’s May 22 military awards event.

Awards presented to St. Croix River Valley cadets were:

  • Superior Cadet Decoration to C/First Lt. Daniel Hughes ‘13, Afton
  • American Legion (Scholastic Excellence) to C/Ssg. Joseph Riehm ‘15, Stillwater
  • USA Recruiting Command C/2nd Lt. to Brock Carlson ‘14, Lake Elmo
  • USAWOA JROTC Medal to C/Pfc. Vincent Wren ‘16, West Lakeland
  • JROTC Citizenship Awards to C/Maj. and USMC Scholastic Excellence to Kevin Riehm ‘13 of Stillwater
  • Commandant’s Medal Achievement to C/Ssg. Daniel Sheaffer ‘14, Mahtomedi
  • U.S. Navy and U.S. Army ROTC to C/Msg. Anthony Palumbo ‘13, Grant
