Feel the power

Lakeview Health and its PowerUP partners kicked off the 050813_powerup2community-wide program to inspire change, make it easier for children and their families to eat well with five fruits and vegetables a day, be active and stay healthy. Lakeview Health made a long-term commitment to PowerUp after considering statistics showing the children of today will likely live shorter and less healthier lives today’s adults. Despite cool weather, about 700 people showed up for the event. Nearly 500 people participated in the Cha-cha slide, and 300 people signed the We PowerUp Pledge to make a change for children. The event featured other fun activities for kids and their families. Find more photos on our Facebook page (Gazette staff photos by Avery Cropp)
