John Slate, left, owner of High Five Archery in Stillwater and coach Doug Jones, right, congratulate Elysabeth Kleinke, 10, on taking a first place in the Minnesota State Archery Association Indoor 300 Round Tournament last weekend in Owatonna. More than 1,000 archers of all ages and bow types competed in the tournament. Kleinke shot a 239 out of a possible 300 points using a traditional recurve bow to win. Kleinke, of Stillwater, started shooting in August after getting a bow for her birthday and practices at High Five Archery several times a week whereSlate and Jones have coached and encouraged her in the sport. Archery has become a fun year-round activity and sport for the Kleinke family who shoot together weekly and participate in the winter leagues at High Five.
