Snowboarding: Cook finishes 14th at nationals

Stillwater Junior High School student Dylan Cook competed at the United States Amateur Snowboard Association National Championships on March 30-April 5 in Copper Mountain, Colo.

Cook competed in four events and posted a 14th-place finish in Boardercross.

Competing in the Breaker Boys (age 12-13) Division, Cook finished 14th in Boardercross, 31st in Giant Slalom and 41st in the Half Pipe and Slalom events.

It was the first appearance at nationals for Cook, 13, who trains the G Team starting in September. He advanced to the national championships following a strong showing in Upper Midwest ALT Series.

The G Team is one of the leading teams in the country, with training based out of Wild Mountain, Hyland, Elm Creek, Buck Hill and Spirit Mountain.
