Lakeview offers free vein screens

Lakeview Health is offering free vein screenings with Drs. Kevin Bjork and Eric Saterbak from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday April 20.

Persons with the following signs and symptoms are encouraged to attend the screening to determine if they are a candidate for vein treatments. Symptoms and signs include varicose veins, ankle swelling, skin ulcers, leg aches, fatigue or pain and skin color and texture changes.

The screening takes place at Stillwater Medical Group. call 651-439-1234 ext. 3214 to make an appointment.

Book sale at Stafford library

A big book sale is set for April 12-14 at the Washington County Library R.H. Stafford branch in Woodbury at 8595 Centreal Park Place. Sale hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

The sale features used library materials and donations from the public. Materials are price to sell, hardcover books at $2 and paperback books at $1. Customers who use scanners pay a $20 fee per day fro scanning book sale merchandise. Donations will be accepted prior to the sale at the Library’s Info Desk.

Photography program exhibit

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. — The “In New Light” program at Northwest Passage, a Frederic, Wis., residential mental health treatment facility that empowers troubled teens to engage in photographic journeys of self-expression to catalyze life-long transformative experiences, will have a show at the St. Croix Scenic Riverway office in St. Croix Falls.

The show, National Parks In a New Light, is 10 a.m. Apr. 13. In 2011 and 2012, youths embarked on tours of Badlands, Isle Royale, Yellowstone and Rocky Mountain National parks, as well as Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway continues to serve as the home base for the project.
