Junior Thomas Windett was voted the Most Valuable Athlete for the Stillwater boys’ swimming and diving team, which held its postseason awards banquet at The Grand Ballroom in Stillwater on March 3.

Also announced at the banquet is that Riley Hollerbach, from left, Brady Anderson and Thomas Windett will serve as captains for the 2013-14 team.

Windett was among a group of 12 Ponies to receive All-Suburban East Conference honors, a list that also includes Brady Anderson, Lucas Magilke, Alex Burback, Marcus Green, Jesse Busse, Jon Busse, Isaac Swanlund, Max Larson, Liam Gibb, Anthony Shanley and Colin Eason. Teammates Sam Larson, Alex Percival, Brennan Rosell and Dominic Jankowski were honorable mention all-conference honorees.

The Ponies finished the season with a 6-3 record to place fourth in the Suburban East Conference. Stillwater won the Section 4AA title — its fifth section crown in the past six years — and placed 16th at the state meet. The Ponies also won the True Team section championship and placed third at True Team state, matching the team’s best-ever finish at that event.

Junior Brady Anderson was presented the Coaches Award and also voted along with Riley Hollerbach and Windett to serve as captains for the 2013-14 team.

Stillwater, which qualified 13 athletes for a total of 11 entries at the MSHSL state meet, also won the JV conference championship for the 13th time in 16 years.
