Catholic School Raffle earns almost $1 million
ST PAUL — The Annual Catholic Schools Raffle surpassed its goal when 82 participating schools raised almost $1 million.
Together the schools, including St. Croix Catholic in Stillwater, raised $923,635. The figure was revealed by Catholic United Financial Thursday morning.
The 82 schools in three states sold raffle tickets for six weeks leading up the the drawing Thursday morning. Those that sold the most tickets were rewarded with SMARTBoard Packages valued at $3,500.
In four years raffle ticket sales have raised $2 million. Schools keep every dollar raised during the sales. Ticket buyers now have a chance to win prizes such as a 2013 Ford Escape, tickets to the Super Bowl, a Caribbean cruise, Minnesota Twins suite courtesy of Hubbard Radio, iPads, gaming systems and much more.
The 2013 goal has been raised to $1 million.
