Snow slowed the morning commute today and more is on the way.
Although there were no snowfall reports from the St. Croix Valley area this morning, anywhere between 0.7 to 3.5 inches of snow fell in the surrounding areas, according to Meteorologist Dan Effertz at the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.
“At the moment we’re expecting three inches again tonight after midnight and into Friday morning and it will most likely start as a mix of freezing rain and then transition into snow.” Effertz said.
The next chance of snow is Sunday into Monday morning Effertz said though it was still too early to predict snowfall amounts.
When asked if there’s a warm-up any time in our near future Effertz said: “No, there’s nothing significant warming-wise until after next week. It will likely stay in the upper 20s to low to mid-30s through Thursday.” Effertz said.
Despite the winter-like predictions, Wednesday is the first day of spring.
