OAKDALE — River Valley Action hosts a forum on our nation’s health care reform and how it will affect Minnesotans from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in Peter O’Neill Hall at Guardian Angels Church in Oakdale.
The church is located at 8260 Fourth Street North in Oakdale near Interstate 94 and Inwood Avenue.
Carole Backstrom, state Medicaid director, along with Trudy Ohnsorg, special projects manager, both with the state Department of Human Services, will cover the health care exchanges and how they will function in our state as well as the role of Navigators.
Christina Wessel, deputy director of the Minnesota Budget Project, will provide additional information and cover opportunities for advocacy with the department and the legislature. Those in attendance are encouraged to have their questions answered during a panel discussion moderated by former state lawmaker and health care policy analyst Julie Bunn.
