Black Tie to Tie Dye kicks off March FoodShare Month, a month-long event that raises financial support to help restock food supplies. Area schools, churches, service organizations and businesses are participating by creating their own March fund and food drives.
“The success of Black Tie to Tie Dye and the March fund and food campaign, is vital to providing the most basic of needs — food — to our clients,” according to Liz Stone, food shelf director. “The success of our March campaign directly impacts what we can provide our clients over the summer months. These months mark a critical time, when students no longer benefit from free and reduced-cost meals at their school, and families are struggling to provide the difference.”
The fundraiser features a raffle of 100 chances to win an all-inclusive five night stay at an Alaskan Fishing Lodge, including a $500 travel voucher for a total value $5,000. Raffle tickets are $100 each and can be purchased by contacting Christy Bevacqua at 651-342-5553 or [email protected]
Tickets to the dinner, dance and auction are available online for $75 ($30 is tax deductible) at www.valleyoutreachmn.org . Tickets are also available for after-dinner dancing and entertainment starting at 9 p.m. for $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
Valley Outreach is a privately-funded, community-based, and community-supported nonprofit serving St. Croix Valley neighbors in need of food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance.
