Stillwater-based Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Financial Consultant Dana Erickson, ChFC, CASL, CLTC, recently earned the Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) designation from the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification.

Erickson recently completed an eight-part multi-disciplinary course and later passed an examination to earn the CLTC. The CLTC course covers the continuum of care, housing and services people might need during their lifetime.

The Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification is an independent third-party organization founded to help participants gain confidence and competence to work effectively in the long-term care industry.

Brothers join insurance agency

LAKE ELMO — Zignego Agency Inc. of Lake Elmo announces the addition of new agents John R. and Josh Zignego, the agency recently announced.
John R. Zignego and Josh Zignego are 2005 graduates of Stillwater Area High School and 2009 graduates of St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn.  Both have worked in the insurance industry since graduation, John Zignego as a claims representative and Josh Zignego as a personal and commercial underwriter.
The agency is located just north of Lake Elmo Avenue in the Brookfield II building directly behind city hall.

Anderson speaks to club

This month’s Stillwater Critical Thinking Club meeting features St. Paul attorney Jeff Anderson on “The Fall of the Moral Empire,” how the Holy Roman Catholic Church has been a hotbed of sexual abuse permitted by top officials for years and how the American justice system and media have exposed it in the courtroom at 7 p.m. Monday at the FamilyMeans building, 1875 Northwestern Ave. in Stillwater.

Anderson talks about his personal experiences and offer observations on the causes and context for how the most trusted institutions have failed us in child protection and what can be done about it.

Anderson’s work is internationally known and is featured in an HBO film, “Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God.”

Anderson was also part of the movie “Deliver Us From Evil,” nominated for a 2007 Academy Award and available on Netflix.
