New leader on bar association ethics panel
ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Supreme Court recently appointed Center City attorney Beth A. Beaman as Chair of the Nineteenth District Bar Association’s Ethics Committee on Jan. 12. The Nineteenth District includes Washington, Pine, Chisago and Kanabec Counties. Beaman replaces Forest Lake attorney Michael Welch, whose term as chair will expire.
The nineteenth District Ethics Committee is one of 21 district bar associations that investigate complaints of unethical conduct against Minnesota Lawyers for the state Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board.
District Ethics Committee members are volunteer attorneys and public members. Complaints about a Minnesota Lawyer’s professional conduct must be filed directly with the Office of the Director of Lawyers Professional Responsibility, 1500 Landmark Towers, 345 St. Peter Street, St. Paul, Minn. 55102. The complaints are then referred to the appropriate District Ethics Committee for investigation and recommendation.
