Boys hockey: Wayzata blanks Ponies

PLYMOUTH — Matthew Freytag scored a goal and added two assists and goaltender Aaron Dingmann turned away 15 shots to earn the shutout as Wayzata blanked Stillwater 4-0 in Saturday’s nonconference boys’ hockey game at the Plymouth Ice Center.

Colton Anderson finished with 21 saves for the Ponies, who were outshot 10-1 in the opening period and 25-15 in the game.

The loss snapped a four-game unbeaten streak for the Stillwater (2-2-1 SEC, 3-3-1), who knocked off second-ranked Minnetonka just two days earlier.
