SCPA round-up: Lions fall to Simley, Humboldt

 

BAYTOWN TOWNSHIP — Cameron Mehls tossed in 20 points, but it wasn’t enough as St. Croix Preparatory Academy fell to Simley 58-55 in Tuesday’s nonconference boys’ basketball game.

Michael Gutierrez and Seth Johnson added 11 points apiece for the Lions (2-4) while Jakob Schollmeier chipped in with 10.

St. Paul Humboldt 64, St. Croix Prep 29

At St. Paul, Lashay Holt exploded for 38 points to lead St. Paul Humboldt to a 64-29 nonconference girls’ basketball victory over St. Croix Preparatory Academy on Dec. 13.

Grace Kaetterhenry led the Lions (1-5) with 13 points and Lita Schollmeier followed with 11 in the losing effort.
