MAHTOMEDI — Washington County Sheriff’s office deputies are continuing their investigation into the death of woman struck by a vehicle Friday on Hilton Trail.
A WCSO news release identified the victim as Robyn Hansen, 47, of Willernie. Investigators said Hansen was walking in a traffic lane on Hilton Trail when she was apparently stuck and killed by a vehicle driven by Alec Saatzer of Pine Springs. Hansen was takento Regions Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
WCSO Sgt. Tim Tuthill said the accident remains under investigation and the investigators are waiting on toxicology and accident reconstruction reports that could take four to six weeks.
Suspicious object brings in St. Paul Police bomb squad
Members of the St. Paul Police Department bomb squad were brought in last Thursday after the Stillwater Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious object on the 600 block of Main Street South.
According to initial police reports, what appeared to be a spent smoke grenade was placed on the concrete bench along the stairs behind the historic Warden’s House Museum. The item was collected without incident.
The report states that bomb squad members advised that they would detonate the item for public safety.
