Boys soccer — Blake Wojski’s hat trick helps carry the undefeated Stillwater boys’ soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Brookfield East in
the second game of the Minnesota-Wisconsin Tournament held in the Milwaukee suburbs. In the opener one night earlier against Cedarburg, the Ponies (9-0-0) allow their first goal of the season in a 3-1 victory. Mike Blythe, Hans Wagner, Eric Blythe also score goals for the Ponies during the event.
College soccer — With former Ponies Amanda McMahon, Kyndra Hesse and Becky Dellaria among those leading the way, the University of Minnesota women’s soccer team jumps out to a 5-1-0 start to the season.
Girls tennis — Victories at first and second doubles help carry the Stillwater girls’ tennis team to a third-place finish at the Hibbing Invitational. Marie Jambois and Jenna Wieden do not lose a set in three matches while claiming the top spot at first doubles while Brittany Roth and Brittany Wahlin follow suit with a first-place showing at second doubles. In a subsequent 7-0 victory over Park, the Ponies put together four all-sister doubles teams who play varsity or exhibition matches against the Wolfpack, including Katie and Megan Scully, Erin and Jenny Scully, Nicole and Renee Sawinski and Hana and Elise Grover.
