Another great forecast greets another weekend of great activities in the St. Croix Valley.
“Take Me to the River” celebrates art on the St. Croix River with exhibits at Valley art galleries and a wine grape stomp in St. Croix Falls, Wis.
If you’re looking for fun closer to home, Bayport’s annual Derby Days Festival packs fun activities for children and adults in one day. There’s a medallion hunt with a $500 prize, rubber duck derby, pet parade and fireworks at night.

The Stillwater Ponies travel to the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul for a football game against SEC rival Cretin-Derham Hall. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. at UST’s O’Shaughnessy Stadium. If you can’t make the game, listen to the action on KLBB-AM 1220.
Start Bayport’s Derby Days with an 8 a.m. pancake breakfast at the Hesley Jensen American Legion Post No. 491. The post also begins offering medallion hunt clues at 10 a.m. and every hour after. The person finding the medallion receives a $500 prize.
The popular duck derby floats down the creek in Perro Park at noon, followed by the pet parade in the park at 1 p.m.
Lakeside Park hosts the “Taste of Bayport,” an ice cream social, activities for children and adults and the festival fireworks show at 8:30 p.m.
The Rustic Road 13 Pottery Event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1148 Troutbrook Road in Hudson features an art-filled barn, continuous potter’s wheel, Raku firing demonstrations and live music. The event is free and continues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Art inspired by the St. Croix River is the theme of the “Take Me to the River” festival. Events are the: Rhythms and Blues opening reception from 6-8 p.m. at the ArtReach St. Croix galleries featuring works by Pat Casanova, Nicole Roberts Hoiland, Ann Labovitz and Jeff Ross.
Abnet Farm Art Show and Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Abnet Farm, 16885 Square Lake Trail North.
The 39th Annual Marine Art Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in historic Marine on St. Croix features the work of more than 175 artists and craftsmen.
The Fall Harvest Festival at Chateau St. Croix is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Chateau St. Croix, 1998 State Road 87 in St. Croix Falls, Wis., and features art, food and a grape stomp.
