I would like to thank the “regular volunteers” at the Valley Outreach food shelf in Stillwater.
In January, after my lay off, I volunteered at Valley Outreach on Fridays, a busy day for them there. I observed the “regular volunteers” picking up donations from local merchants, weighing in donations, sorting through produce, stocking shelves, organizing the meat market, and, of course, shopping with clients.
Their hard work and teamwork was astonishing. Their attitude was uplifting. Their sincere spirit in helping others was genuine.
My Fridays there have come to an end because full employment begins soon. What I’ve learned in volunteering at the food shelf is immense. Blessed are these “regular volunteers” who help others in need.
