Mary Newman and Jeri Longfellow presented A Place of Grace co- founders Gretchen Stein and David Wettergren a check for $1,000 Aug. 6 that was raised from a “Tee it up for the Troops” event.

“Women Teeing it up for Women Veterans Golf Event” was held in June. A Place of Grace is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting military women transitioning to civilian life.

The money will be used to provide scholarships for military women attending the 2nd Annual Military Women’s Weekend Experience Oct. 12-14 sponsored by A Place of Grace at the Dunrovin Center in Marine on St. Croix.  This short-term retreat and education program is designed to provide military women an opportunity to relax, learn and grow while supporting each other in a beautiful, natural and peaceful setting.

Military women, active or veterans, interested in participating in the weekend experience can contact A Place of Grace through their website at www.aplaceofgrace.us or by contacting Wettergren at 651-653-2009.
