Board accepts 10th Street North bid
Hardrives, Inc. bid of just under $650,000 to repave 10th Street North in Oakdale was accepted Tuesday by the Washington County Board of Commissioners.
The company bid of $646,421 on the project, well below the engineer’s $770,827 estimate for the work. Hardrives will mill and overlay asphalt pavement, paths and pedestrian ramps, install traffic barriers, signs and striping of 10th Street North from the Interstate 694 bridge to 600 feet of Inwood Avenue North in Lake Elmo.
The project is funded with state aid money.
County, cities, township to work on road
Washington County, the cities of Hugo and Grant and White Bear Lake Township will work together on paving Goodview Avenue between Count State Aid Highway 7 and the southern border of Hugo under a joint operating agreement approved Tuesday by the County Board of Commissioners.
Goodview Avenue is a gravel road connecting CSAH 7 and CSAH 8. The major problem the county faces is gravel from Goodview being pulled onto CSAH 7 and causing safety problems for motorcyclists and other motorists.
Hugo is taking the lead in the Goodview paving project, with the county contributing 25 percent of the cost the project. The lowest quote on the project’s cost is $75,250; the county’s share would be slightly more than $18,800.
