Showcase your talent at Ice Cream Social and Amateur Talent Show

Auditions are set for the 11th annual Amateur Talent Show featured at the Ice Cream Social July 18, at the Washington County Historic Courthouse.

Auditions for all categories are June 26 and 27 at the Historic Courthouse, 101 W. Pine St. in Stillwater. There is no band category this year. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and auditions start at 7. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants must audition in their performance attire and bring their own accompaniment, iPod or CD. A CD player, iPod cable, microphone and full-size keyboard will be provided. Maximum group size is eight. This is a family-friendly show, so acts must be appropriate for all ages.

The Ice Cream Social begins at 4:30 p.m. July 18 and the Talent Show begins at 6 p.m. In addition to the Talent Show, the event features the Fantasy Corral Petting Zoo sponsored by Edina Realty-Stillwater, children’s games and activities, food, penny candy and 25-cent root beer floats. Ice cream for the root beer floats is donated by Leo’s Grill and Malt Shop.

St. Croix Music provides sound equipment for the auditions and talent show and local businesses will be asked to provide prizes for the history questions during the Talent Show.

The Ice Cream Social and Amateur Talent Show is free and open to the public. If there is inclement weather, the Talent Show will be held inside the courthouse. Indoor seating for the audience is limited.
