MARIETTA, Ga. – Mrs. Evelyn Mae Hanlon (Hedrick), 83 of Marietta, Ga., passed away on April 18, 2012.
A St. Paul native, Evelyn was born on March 14, 1929, to the late Emmet Hedrick and Margaret Hedrick Anderson in Great Falls, Mont. Evelyn was an avid gardener, traveler, and a devoted wife and mother. She was also an active docent at the Governor’s Mansion in St. Paul, and volunteered at the Minnesota Historical Society, Belwin Nature Center, taught disadvantaged persons how to read and many other activities.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Emmett Hedrick, and sisters Margaret Meysembourg and Dolores Dahlgren. She leaves behind her husband, Daniel J. Hanlon, Jr.; sons Patrick (Jane) Hanlon and Thomas Hanlon; daughters Mary (Jim) Selbitschka; Carol, and Anne (Chris) Hanlon-Meyer; sister Virginia Kintz; grandchildren, Erin Hanlon, Kelly Hanlon, Devin Hanlon, Cpl. Daniel Hanlon, Sgt. Michael Hanlon, Briana Hanlon, Katherine Selbitschka, Cheryl Selbitschka, Grace Meyer, and Ruby Meyer; step-children Emily Perman and Abigail Perman, and great-granchildren Kylie, Christopher, Emma, Quinn, Owen and Colton, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill in Marietta. A memorial service will be held in St. Paul at a date to be announced.
