County will continue to use Salem Lutheran Church parking lot

Washington County will continue using the Salem Lutheran Church parking lot for overflow parking under a lease agreement approved Tuesday by the County Board of Commissioners.

The county and Salem Lutheran on North 62nd Street have had an agreement since 1998 that allows overflow parking for the Government Center to park at the church Monday through Friday. The county removes snow from the church parking lot the business week and does a mechanical sweeping of the lot each spring.

The current lease had expired and Salem Lutheran signed an amendment April 25, to extend the lease to Dec. 31, 2012.
