Getting carried away

The Stillwater Area High School Chamber Orchestra Con Amici presents its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Historic Courthouse, Included in this performance are the winners of the Con Amici Solo Competition. This year’s winners are Meade Acers, a sixth-grader from Stone Bridge Elementary performing Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto No. 1; Jonathan Luk, a ninth-grader from Oak-Land Junior High performing Vivaldi’s Cello Sonata  No. 5; and Katie Koenning, an SAHS junior performing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3. Con Amici also performs portions of the following pieces: A Moorside Suite by Gustav Holst, Holberg Suite by Edvard Grieg, Variations on a Theme by Frescobaldi by Alexander Tansman, and Mendelssohn’s Sinfonia No. 8. The concert will be at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at the door, and cost $5. Students and senior citizens get in free. (Submitted photo)
