Jean A. Schleusner

Jean A. Schleusner, age 72, of Ojibwa, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at her home.

Jean Ann was born April 17, 1945 in Stillwater, MN, the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Kimker) Richert. She was raised in Stillwater and graduated from high school there. After high school, she started working at Honeywell in their Aerospace Division in Minneapolis, MN. While working at Honeywell, Jean was introduced to Billy A. Schleusner. Jean and Bill were married on May 27, 1967 in Lake Elmo, MN and moved to Chippewa Falls, WI. While living in Chippewa Falls, Jean worked for Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Jean and Bill moved to Mahomet, IL and Jean worked as secretary for the General Manager of Eisner Foods in Urbana, IL. In 1972, Jean and Bill moved to Menomonie, WI where they farmed and Jean worked as a secretary for Preston Chiropractic Clinic. While living in Menomonie, Jean and Bill purchased a lot near Winter, WI where they began to vacation and camp at. In 2004, Jean retired and moved to their cabin in Sawyer County. Jean enjoyed horseback riding, all-terrain vehicle riding, fishing and camping. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hayward.

Jean is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bill; two children, Tammy (Mike) Polta of Amery, WI, Shane (Jana) Schleusner of Larkspur, CO; one granddaughter, Michaela; sister-in-law Joan Richert of Stillwater, MN; nephews, Jeff (Karen) Richert and Doug (Sue King) Richert; and niece, Pam (Ron) Schleusner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Richert Jr.

A memorial service celebrating Jean's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hayward with Pastor Tony Stoutenburg officiating. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. A private interment will be held at a later time at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Lake Elmo, MN.

Honorary bearers will be Sue King, Betty Koch, Don Koch, Mike Polta, Doug Richert and Jana Schleusner.
