The Stillwater Police Department is seeking information about an armed robbery that took place at approximately 11:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at the U.S. Bank branch at 213 Chestnut St. E. in downtown Stillwater.
According to police, a Stillwater Township woman was using the lobby ATM when she was robbed at gunpoint by a man who displayed what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot, 10-inch to 6-foot male wearing a charcoal gray sweatshirt, with the hood up and pulled tight. He was also wearing sunglasses and black fabric over his face, as well as green shorts that went past the knee, possibly with a camouflage design, police said.
Initially the suspect was observed fleeing on foot, heading west on Chestnut Street, but witnesses observed him getting into a light-colored, possibly silver, early 90s model Ford Focus, which was last seen northbound on Second Street from Myrtle Street.
Sgt. Jeff Stender said Sept. 5 that no arrests have been made and police continue to investigate.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stillwater Police Department at 651-351-4945.
