Lumina Women’s Ensemble will perform a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 611 Third St. S., Stillwater.
Title “Saints and Servants: Songs of Women,” the program is described as a “rich tapestry of music by women and about women.” The concert examines the “often mundane but holy work that women do and have done as mothers and daughters for centuries.” Selections include Hildegard von Bingen’s “Quia ergo femina” to a Norwegian cow call, “Baettirlokken.”
Lumina is a professional women’s ensemble in the Twin Cities dedicated to the “mystery, beauty and hope inherent in music.”
Admission is free. An offering will be taken.
