The Stillwater City Council has approved an agreement that allows Run Stillwater to conduct the Stillwater Half Marathon, 10K and 5K in the city. The race is set for May 27 and will end in Pioneer Park in Stillwater.
Last year the council denied a permit for the Stillwater Log Run in September, over concerns with the application and previous events. The race organizers ended up moving the finish line so the race did not end in Stillwater, citing the St. Croix River’s high water level, which affected the end of the course in Lowell Park.
The council approved Run Stillwater’s application for this year’s event after discussion with the organizers and assurances that a new contact person, Stacy Einck, has been assigned.
