Jone Margret Welch See

Jone Margret Welch See

Age 70 of Stillwater

I have died and my spirit is floating in the universe.
I was born in Graceville, MN and raised in Ortonville, MN.
I have been blessed with a loving and caring family, extended family, and old and dear friendships. My best friend and husband, Philip See, and I had a long, loving time together (46 years). Our success in marriage and family can be attributed in large part to keeping our sense of humor in facing the many joys and challenges of raising our kids and pursuing our careers. We were blessed with five spirited, caring and wonderful children, Nicole See, Gretchen (Brian) Gunderson, Addie See (Matthew Shipman), Joseph (Halee) See and Peter (Rachel) See. We have also been blessed with nine beautiful, loving and best ever grandchildren, Isaac, Aidan and Sam Gunderson, Leo and Louisa See Shipman, Kylee and Sadie See, and Philip and Gordon See. Besides family, nursing (LPN and BA in Nursing) was my first love and I was able to practice my profession in many different capacities off and on through my entire life, starting in high school and in many different states and cities around the country. Also, as a nurse volunteer later in life with the American Red Cross I was able to serve victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and tornado victims in Joplin, MO. I also served my community in different Red Cross activities. Some of the values I held throughout my life that guided me I learned through Girl Scouting, my upbringing in the Congregational Church, from my parents, my mentor Grandma Em, belief in the common good for all people, Doing unto Others as you would want them to do unto you, belief in a benevolent higher power seen in all creation, and the Indian Prayer “Let me not criticize my neighbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasins.” I stayed informed of current events and loved to read fiction and non-fiction. I also loved quilting, our family cabin and woods, birds, walking, a healthy lifestyle, a good Brandy Manhattan and playing games/cards with my children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Along with my husband, children and grandchildren, I am survived by my sister Addie (Bruce) Yilek, brother John (Colleen) Welch, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
I was preceded in death by my father J. Herbert Welch, and mother, Winnie (Vivian Evenson) Welch.
Don’t be sad, OK?
A celebration of life and funeral will be held at Ascension Episcopal Church, Stillwater, MN on Saturday May 13, with a gathering at 10 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m. Interment at a later date.
