It’s going to be a summer evening of 1960s music and fun to benefit Good Samaritan Society on Friday, Aug. 8 from 6-10:30 p.m. at the Lake Elmo Inn Event Center. There will be a reception, a silent and live auction, dinner and dancing to Stillwater’s 1960s garage band, The More Tishans. Live auction items include a 7-night Gulf Coast and Daytona Beach, Florida stay, a 4-day fishing trip on Rainy Lake in Ontario and a 3-hour St. Croix River Cruise.

Organizers invite individuals to come dressed for 1960s fun.

This event is open to the community. Paid reservations are required by Aug. 1. The cost is $55 for a single ticket and $100 for a couple. Call Pam at 651-275-2917 or email ptrudeau@good-sam.com to make a reservation.

Event proceeds will be used to purchase a two wheelchair accessible van.

Historical society hosts ice cream social fundraiser

Kinnickinnic Historical Association will hold its annual ice cream social at the Kinnickinnic Church on Sunday, Aug. 3 from 2-6 p.m. The church is located east of 65 on J, between River Falls and Roberts.

Musical interludes will take place during the social.

Proceeds will go towards maintenance and restoration of the 146-year-old church building which has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Acapulco hosts third annual fundraiser

Acapulco, 1240 W Frontage Road, in Stillwater is hosting the third annual AMOR Acapulco Motorcycle Orphanage Run & Family Fiesta on Sunday, Aug. 3 from noon to 6 p.m. This event is a benefit for the Queen of Angels Orphanage in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.
