Steve “AC, ACE” Violet

Steve Violet

Beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle & friend he was truly one of a kind!
He was born November 26, 1951 in Stillwater, MN, grew up in Bayport, then lived on the East Side of St. Paul until 10 years ago when he found his little piece of heaven on earth with their new home in Clear Lake, WI. Steve passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis on May 31, 2014, at age 62, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Steve was a Vietnam Veteran and worked with concrete for the majority of his life with Local 132 before retiring to work in the Clear Lake Cemetary. He had such a unique spirit and was so easy going. He had a special way about him and was always willing to help anybody, especially if it involved tinkering or fixing things. Steve had a creative imagination and artistic flair for turning nothing into something! Who would ever think that rebar could be so beautiful?!? ACE loved his annual fishing trip, being part of the pit crew at the race track, and remained an avid Vikings fan to the end throughout the teams woes and despite his move or pressure from Packer friends and neighbors.
He will be dearly missed by his wife and soul mate Laura, sons, Steve Jr., & Jake, his mother Ellie Morris, sisters Char Plattner, Barb Spiegelberg, Vickie (Bob) Achman, Becky Larson, brother Roger and mother in-law, Sue Koel, along with many other special family & friends. He is preceded in death by his father Al, brother, Don and sister, Val.
Steve asked that nobody mourn his death, but instead celebrate his lifeThere will be a private internment followed by a party at his place in CELEBRATION of STEVES LIFE on Saturday, June 21st at 2:00pm. BYOB, bring your own chair, a dish to share and stories galore! There will be horseshoes to throw, a bonfire to burn, and hanging out in the garage – just the way he would like it!
When someone you love becomes a memory,
that memory becomes a treasure!
