“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall make straight your paths,” Proverbs 3:5-6.

It is with sadness that I write this final column and tell you thank you for allowing me to share ideas, reflections and hopefully inspirations with you over these past three years. To hone the ability to listen to our hearts so that we can hear God speaking to us is the duty of every Christian, and that is what I am doing at this point in time. I have been called to return to school, which I am doing this summer, as I will begin the study toward a doctorate in education. And from there, it’s God’s call.

Being attuned with the call God gives us is something we must practice and trust each day. If we have practiced and trusted as we attempted to hear and understand God’s message in our heads and our hearts, which will be different for each one of us, we can also be assured that he will also provide everything we need to accomplish His holy will. And it is for this reason that I say the next steps will be up to Him. Our job is to be obedient to what we hear and to follow the call as we understand it.

I wish each of you well as you, too, tune your ear to God’s call in your lives and follow obediently to what you hear. I will continue to serve clients in my practice at Christian Heart Counseling in Stillwater, and if I can ever be of service to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you again and God bless you all! Kate Walsh
