NOTICE OF FILING
BROWNS CREEK AND RICE CREEK
Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources
520 Lafayette Road North
Saint Paul, Minnesota 55155
In the matter of the petitions for the boundary changes of the Browns Creek Watershed District and the Rice Creek Watershed District pursuant to Minn. Statutes Section 103D.251.
Whereas, the subject petitions have been filed by Washington County and the Rice Creek Watershed District with the Board of Water and Soil Resources (Board) pursuant to Minn. Statutes Section 103D.251.
Now therefore, the Board hereby issues the following:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board invites written comments on the petitions to change the boundaries of the Browns Creek Watershed District and the Rice Creek Watershed District. All comments received will be considered before a decision is made to change the boundaries. Any person who objects to the petitions may submit a written request for hearing to the Board. If no written requests for a hearing are submitted within 30 days of the last publication of this notice of filing, the Board will consider all of the comments and information received pertaining to the petitions and make a decision on the boundary changes at a regular Board meeting without conducting a public hearing.
The proposed boundary changes encompass approximately 568 acres of land within the Cities of Grant and Hugo in Washington County. The boundary changes are proposed because some parcels are bisected by current watershed district boundaries and due to the fact that some parcels are currently not included in a watershed management organization as required by Minn. Statutes Section 103B.231, subdivision 1(a).
The Board must review the petitions for conformance with state law and rule.
Copies of the petitions are available for inspection during normal business hours at the Boards office at the address listed above.
For further information contact Jim Haertel of the Board at 651-297-2906.
Dated in Saint Paul, Minnesota this 18th day of March, 2014.
