Age 88 of Stillwater died Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She was born June 7, 1925, the daughter of Alfred “Oscar” and Esther (Nelson) Turnblad. She grew up in Scandia and graduated from Forest Lake High School. She was united in marriage to Cletus Simonet on February 8, 1947 at the Church of St. Charles in Bayport. The couple made their home in Stillwater where they owned and operated Simonet Bottle Gas Company. After raising their five children, Mildred went into nursing as a medical assistant where she worked at both Pine Point and Croixdale. After her retirement she took care of Cletus for years until his death in 1997.  She loved embroidery, gardening, tending to her houseplants, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mildred is survived by her children; Caroline (David) Williams, Loretta (Curtis Teague) Simonet, Maureen (Steve) Stenseth, Carmen (Don Howard) Simonet, Dean (friend Christine and Sasha); grandchildren Dana (Suzanne) Williams, Jeffrey (Frances) Williams, Timothy Williams, Paul and Robert Stenseth, Alex and Tony Howard; great grandson Sebastian Williams; brother Vincent (Gretchen) Turnblad. She was preceded in death by her husband Cletus.   Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 South Third Street, Stillwater.  Visitation 4-8 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Avenue N., Stillwater. Also one hour prior to Mass at church. Burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bayport. Memorials preferred to Church of St. Michael or donor’s choice.
