Festival Theatre’s Hopelessly Romantic Valentine’s event is coming up on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

All are welcome to the Elbow Room for an evening with food, drinks and the Festival Theatre’s acting company, as well as guest artists who specialize in bringing a humorous, jaded, sardonic or satiric look at romance.

This occasion marks Festival’s fifth annual Valentine’s evening special with music by Nancy Conger and improvisational comedy and performance by Jackie Johnson, Andrew Benson, Seth Kaltwasser and other friends of the theatre.

All are invited to enter the poetry contest — write a sonnet, haiku, limerick or free verse and get it to the theatre by Monday, Feb. 10. There’s a prize for the winner. For details on submitting poetry, got to festivaltheatre.org.

Festival’s Act II Café has announced that new dessert wines will be brought in, along with a selection of specialty desserts, including pear bread pudding with salted caramel/bourbon sauce, white chocolate-grand marnier mousse and French silk pie for $7 per serving. Café staff and volunteers are also offering table service for this event.

Tickets for the event cost $15 per person and can be purchased online, by calling the box office, or at the door. Reservations are recommended as space is limited in the club-style Elbow Room.

On Saturday, Feb. 15, Festival Theatre also has singer-songwriters Danny Schmidt and Carrie Elkin performing together on the main stage.

For more information or tickets, go to festivaltheatre.org or call 715-483-3387.

Festival Theatre is in downtown St. Croix Falls at 210 N. Washington St., inside the historic Civic Auditorium.
