SCPA: Lions drop two; SCPA girls top Humboldt

 

Five players scored in double figures to carry St. Paul Academy to a 61-45 boys’ basketball victory over St. Croix Preparatory Academy on Saturday.

Michael Gutierrez totaled 19 points while Chance Fisher chipped in with nine for the Lions (12-7), who were outscored 37-22 in the first half.

n New Life Academy jumped out to a 37-14 halftime lead en route to a 60-41 victory over the Lions on Friday night. Gutierrez led the Lions with 11 points while Weston Berg and Kai Ylonen added nine and eight points apiece.

n Gutierrez delivered 24 points and Chance Fisher followed with 17 as SCPA dispatched FAIR Charter on Jan. 29.

Rose Kaetterhenry poured in 23 points as the St. Croix Prep girls pulled away in the second half for a 75-64 basketball victory over St. Paul Humboldt on Jan. 31. Lita Schollmeier added 18 points and Grace Kaetterhenry added 14 for the Lions (8-8).

n Spectrum/PACT used a balanced scoring attack to overcome a seven-point halftime deficit in a 52-42 girls’ basketball victory over SPCA on Jan. 29. Rose Kaetterhenry totaled 20 points and Grace Kaetterhenry added 15 to lead the Lions, who were outscored 34-17 in the second half.
