Students at the St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center, an alternative high school in the Stillwater School District, recently ran a coat drive in response to a teacher’s challenge. Social studies teacher Jonathan Swanson suggested a coat drive competition to see which advisory group could bring in the most coats. The group that brought the most coats would get to choose Swanson’s hair style and color for the last week of the grading period. The students responded with a grand total of 136 jackets for Valley Outreach in Stillwater. The winning group brought in 63 coats.
