Give to the Max Day
Local nonprofits and schools participate in Give to the Max Day Thursday, Nov. 14.
Give to the Max Day is a collaborative venture to transform philanthropy in Minnesota by growing overall giving and moving more giving online. The idea is simple — GiveMN.org features nonprofit organizations and gives opportunities to people who want to donate. The event began in 2009. To see if your favorite organization is involved and to donate, go to GiveMN.org and type the name of the organization in the search bar.
Do you wish you could stop smoke from coal plants, radiation in the waters along the coast of Alaska, or glaciers melting in the Arctic? Ralph Jacobson, owner of Innovative Power Systems, invites the public to learn what you can do about such threats and how to think about the human condition in a positive way join a discussion. The hour-long forum at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 will be in the conference center of Boutwells Landing and is sponsored by the St. Croix Valley Friends Meeting (Quaker). Light refreshments will be served.
