Lookout Trail to close Monday

St. Croix Crossing logoMotorists and area residents will experience a two-week closure of Lookout Trail in Oak Park Heights beginning Monday, Oct. 21, weather permitting, as part of the St. Croix Crossing construction. Through-traffic should follow the marked detour, and area residents will always be able to access their homes, according to project officials. Crews will complete utility work during this closure.
Officials say crews have reported several onlookers inside construction zones. For the safety of the public and construction crew members, the St. Croix Crossing project team asks pedestrians and bicyclists to keep out of the active construction areas and off of construction equipment. The old Beach Road bridge and the closed ramp from Beach Road to westbound Highway 36 are inside the active construction zone.
Community members can track the progress of caisson construction on the project website at mndot.gov/stcroixcrossing. The site is updated on Wednesdays.
