Roast Pork and Sauerkraut Supper

October in Lake Elmo means it’s time to share 850 lbs. of roast pork, 550 lbs. of rutabagas, and 360 lbs. of  sauerkraut at Christ Lutheran Church. The church’s annual Roast Pork and Sauerkraut Supper is Tuesday, Oct. 15.

All-you-can-eat family-style lunch is offered at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., with dinner seating at 4, 4:30, 5:15 and 6:15 p.m. Takeout meals can be picked up starting at 11:00 a.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m. while supplies last.

Conference on Galations Oct. 20-21

Dr. David L. Larsen of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Ill., will be keynote speaker at the First Evangelical Free Church’s Bible Conference on Galatians: “The Christian’s Emancipation Proclamation,” October 20 and 21. The church is located at 2696 Hazelwood Street in Maplewood.

His topics will be:

• Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., The Gospel Defended

• Sunday evening at 6 p.m., The Gospel Defined

• Monday evening at 7 p.m., The Gospel Demonstrated

• There will be a question-answer period following both evening presentations. The sessions are free and open to the public. Childcare will be provided through age 5.

Waffle breakfast for Guardian Angels

Guardian Angels Men’s Club is hosting a waffle breakfast 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Breakfast includes all-you-can eat sausage, milk, juice or coffee and a variety of toppings. Proceeds go toward new shingles for the historic Guardian Angels Church. Adults (age 13 and up) are $8 and kids (6-12) are $5.  Children 5 and under eat free.

Guardian Angels Church is located at 8260 4th Street N., Oakdale.

Lutefisk Dinner 

Join Trinity Lutheran Church for the 28th annual Lutefisk Dinner celebration on Nov. 7. The evening dishes feature Lutefisk, meatballs, coleslaw, dilled carrots, mashed potatoes, gravy, cream sauce and plenty of butter plus homemade pie. Seatings for the event are 11:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 4:15 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Tickets cost $18 for adults and children in grades 1-6 cost $5, while preschoolers get in free. Those purchasing tickets must use cash or check only and proceeds from the meal go to Trinity’s hunger missions.

‘Parable’ art exhibit opening reception

The group exhibit, “Parable” is on display to the public free of charge from Sunday to Nov. 13 with works in oil, ceramic, and mixed media by area artists Polly Kersten, Vicki Patten, and Susan Ruth Wiggin Mueller. In addition a special exhibit of children’s art on the Parable theme will also be on display.

Gallery Viewing Hours are Monday through Wednesday 1-3 p.m. and Sunday afternoons 3-5 p.m. or by appointment by contacting info@agapearts.net. The exhibit takes place at The Oakridge Gallery of Gospel Art at Oakridge Community Church at 610 County Road 5 in Stillwater.

Chicken pot pie dinner Oct. 13

All are welcome to chicken pot pie dinner, along with salad and dessert, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bayport Sunday, Oct. 13.

Dinner is at 5 p.m. It is provided to create a social connection throughout the St. Croix Valley.

The church is at 490 4th Street, Bayport.

Artisans and crafters wanted

St. Lucas Community Church in Lake Elmo is accepting applications for artisans and crafter sto sell handmade items at a craft boutique Nov. 1-2. The sale is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Booth booths are 8 by 10 feet, and electricity is available.

Each space costs $40, with a maximum of three spaces per vendor.

Approximately 40 spaces are available.   Exhibitors are encouraged to provide their own tables, table coverings and display fixtures.

The St. Lucas Youth will operate a concession stand at the boutique.

St. Lucas Community Church is at 1195 Manning Ave., Lake Elmo.
